Fundraising success for GJD

It is an annual tradition for ‘Team GJD’ to battle it out over a 1200m karting circuit for six hours, to help raise money for Down Syndrome Extra 21 charity (DSE21). This race is the main fund raising event of the year for DSE21 and was held at Buckmore Park, Kent on Saturday 28th May 2016.

The event was a fantastic success as 28 teams battled it out in the annual charity endurance kart race. Some of the teams included Norbain and Beacon Alarms, who are both customers of GJD.  Richard Taylor from the Alarm Company Norwich also had a team which was sponsored by Enterprise Security Norwich. Neil Barber from Full Stop Fire & Security and his daughter Holly gave out the trophies.

This year GJD raised £671.85 and the event in total raised £23,838.32! Team Captain Paul Tibbenham headed up ‘Team GJD’ who finished 3rd. Paul said: “This annual fundraiser was another great success and it was a pleasure to participate in such a great cause”.

Greg Stuttle, Business Development Manager at GJD raced with his son Tom in team ‘Jeremy Kartson’, who finished 4th. Greg commented: “This event was an incredible achievement and I would like to thank everyone who was involved and it is truly appreciated by Down Syndrome Extra 21”.

Money raised for the charity is used to help people with Down Syndrome to live full and rewarding lives. The main objectives of the charity are to promote equal opportunities for people with Down Syndrome, offer support to them and their families, to promote public awareness of Down Syndrome and to encourage local support groups.

People can still donate to DSE21 via JustGiving, which is simple, fast and totally secure.
