GJD’s on-going commitment to Apprenticeship programme

Heywood based GJD Manufacturing is committed to ensuring they develop the right skills within the company as succession planning is a key feature in every aspect of the business.

Apprenticeships have proven key to the business; affording the right balance of experience and developing team members.

Not only does the Apprenticeship framework offer a platform to develop their talent pool from grass roots; it also provides a fantastic opportunity for the individuals involved to forge a career path built on solid foundations, balancing technical learning with invaluable hands on experience which simply cannot be achieved in any other education path.

GJD is celebrating as two of their apprentices Dale Hacking and Kieran Kelly have recently completed a 3 year apprenticeship in Electronics. Not only have they gained a wealth of experience in GJD’s state-of-the art manufacturing operations but it has afforded them the opportunity to travel across the globe, be involved first hand in factory relocations and reorganisations and ultimately for Kieran an opportunity to move into a technical role within the after sales support activity.

And the future is bright for GJD as they continue to invest in the apprenticeship programme as Chris Riley joined the company in July on a Warehousing and Logistics apprenticeship.

We wish all three the very best of luck in their new careers.
