GJD announces new technology integrations with Lutron and Rako

05/07/2018

GJD, an award winning manufacturer and designer of smart electronic perimeter detection and high performance LED illumination equipment, today announced that its award winning TechSmart devices now support direct integration with Lutron and Rako home automation drivers.TechSmart logo

The TechSmart range consists of proximity detectors, precision laser sensors, Infra-Red and White-Light LED illuminators, which integrate perfectly within Lutron and Rako lighting control systems. The new integrations will facilitate greater efficiency, creative applications and flexible home automation solutions.

Mark Tibbenham, GJD’s Managing Director commented: “We are extremely pleased to be able to connect with the well-respected smart home brands of Lutron and Rako. The new integrations allow Custom Integrators to easily connect TechSmart devices with Lutron and Rako to enhance smart home systems by providing efficient lighting, temperature control, perimeter detection and early intruder warning alerts”.

Every event that a TechSmart device generates, such as a motion alert or a low light level, can now simply trigger a smart customised action within Rako and Lutron controllers.

This new integration functionality is embedded in the GJD firmware and very simply configured from its web interface. For Lutron, just enter the Lutron Phantom Keypad ID and Button number, for Rako, just enter Room number and command to recall.

For Lutron and Rako lighting systems, you can programme bespoke effects including the dimming of a single light, a complete scene or even a complex lighting sequence – all in response to a TechSmart activated event.

The new integration options allow Custom Integrators to explore and configure innovative digital security and home automation capabilities.

TechSmart is distributed exclusively by Invision, which is the UK's leading specialist distributor of market leading technology for today's automated Smart Home. If you would like more information please email karl.brett@invisionuk.com or visit http://invisionuk.com/

GJD and Invision support Macmillan on the CEDIA charity bike ride

On Saturday 16th of September, GJD and Invision joined other cyclists from the Smart Home industry to take part in the CEDIA charity cycle event to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. The ride took place around Grafham Water Park in Huntingdon.

Greg Stuttle from GJD and Steve Beahan, Ian Mulry, and Andy Jones from Invision all took part in the 50 mile bike ride. £2,957.84 has been raised so far, with organisers expecting this figure to rise as sponsorship money is collected.

Greg Stuttle, Business Development Manager at GJD commented: “Despite the rain, the atmosphere during the ride was great. We really enjoyed taking part, whilst doing something to fundraise for such a worthy cause. We hope to take part in similar events in the future”.

Macmillan is a source of support, helping with all the things that people affected by cancer want and need. It's not only the patients who live with cancer: carers, families and communities also need help coping. Macmillan provides support every step of the way, through funding nurses and other specialist health care professionals, along with building cancer care centres. They also allow those affected to have non-medical care, such as practical support at home, helping give a main carer precious time off, or a lift to hospital. People can also benefit from financial help to cope with the extra costs cancer can bring, so Macmillan gives benefits advice, and grants for anything from heating bills to travel costs.

To support Macmillan, you can donate via CEDIA’s JustGiving Page: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/cedia-emea
